What a hot place Kefalonia is in August! With bath temperature waveless waters, fresh seafood, idyllic bays and picture perfect moments. We stayed in Fiskardo with Unique Villas in a waterfront port suite apartment with the harbor on our doorstep. The drive from the airport along the coast sets the scenery out with the sea so blue like you’ve never seen.
Eight recommendations in and around Fiskardo:
- Eat the stuffed vine leaves at Alexandros, at the junction of the road which leads you down to Myrtos Beach. The other dishes we had were also delicious.
- Myrtos Beach is beautiful and worth the view and dip.
- Hire a small boat and explore the bays around Fiskardo and Polis Beach on Ithaki Island.
- Visit the sea turtles swimming in Argostoli by the port.
- Go to Irida Restaurant – we thought the best in Fiskardo
- Chill in Alaties Beach and eat at Acqua, an Italian/Greek owned restaurant and bar.
- Bathe at Dafnoudi Beach – our favourite nearest Fiskardo – with a 10 minute forest trail from the road.
- Buy the feta and spinach filled pastry for your beach lunch from the small bakery at the most south east side of Fiskardo bay, the first shop on the corner.
